The Little Miami Conservancy (LMC) is pleased to announce its former Executive Director, Eric B. Partee has been selected as a 2023 inductee to ODNR’s Ohio Natural Resources Hall of Fame in Columbus, OH. Partee led LMC for 40 years until his retirement in 2022.

Under Eric Partee’s direction, LMC grew to be a leader in local conservation efforts. During Partee’s tenure, LMC and its partners have been leading stewards of the river, restoring 56% of the riverbanks through land conservation and restoration, acquiring and restoring 110 riverfront nature preserves, and educating kids and adults about river ecosystems. Partee successfully negotiated conservation plans with 95% of the developers that have come into the river corridor.

Eric remains actively involved with LMC, currently overseeing the sampling of dissolved oxygen at 8 sites along the Little Miami State and National Scenic River in collaboration with Central State University, Groundwork ORV, and Yellow Spring’s Instruments. Dissolved oxygen levels are markers of the water health of rivers and consistent monitoring can lend insight into the health of the Little Miami State and National Scenic River.

Congratulations to Eric on this honor and again, thank you for your continued work and stewardship of the Little Miami State and National Scenic River!
